How to activate the power of my words…
Even if I struggle with negative thinking now?
I used to be a terrible pessimist. Always expecting the worst in people, situations, and life. It got so bad that I convinced myself I was being realistic. Then everything changed when I received the gift of the holy spirit through giving my life fully to God by accepting the gift of Jesus’s sacrifice. If you are struggling with negative thinking and desire a transformation, I am happy for you. It means light has shown on you enough for you to receive the truth that you are not where God desires you to be, and I commend your courage and humility to go seek help and find a way out.
Here is the truth:
The Power of Words
Your words give meaning to your life. Words create, words colour, words ignite.
Everything ever made since the beginning of time is made by, one — His words — and two, faithful ones who will back up His words. When words go sour, life becomes a mere fleeting moment. And when the power that form words is revealed through your tongue, life reveals its true meaning.
I have put my words in your mouth_ Jeremiah 1:9. God is always speaking through us. The enemy also is.
The question is, whose spokesman would you rather be? Death and life are in the power of your tongue_ Proverbs 18:21. So, refuse to let your tongue become idle—unfaithful and unproductive—and you are already in power. Status does not give you power.
God does, and He’s put all the power you need in your tongue. Every word that you speak in alignment with God’s will activates His essence within you, and He puts you in your rightful place. Because God will always confirm the words of His servant and perform the counsel of His messenger. We are all servants of God and His messengers, in the sense that He brought us here to serve as Christ’s fellow workers, bringing in new harvests of souls every day.
And as His fellow workers, we send the message of His glorious kingdom out to others. Therefore, let your tongue be seasoned with salt and all that God is. Give others grace in your words.
And now, you might ask,
How do I activate the power of my words, even if I struggle with negative thinking?
First of all, Christ is life, and we have to understand that a reconnection to that life is necessary to make true power revealed in us. True power always flows from surrender, and that is the example that Jesus Christ came here to lay—the example of submission, surrender, and absolute obedience. A reconnection to the power that backs your word is so important to begin to change and to activate the power of your words, even if you struggle with negative thinking.
When you begin to see yourself differently—as God sees you—and you start to get more accurate knowledge of God and accurate knowledge of how He loves you and how He operates in, with, and through you, then the Holy Spirit, which you’ve been given by reconnection to the life which is Christ, begins to stir up your power and you begin to flow more in alignment with that Spirit.
Commit to walking In The Spirit: The flesh profits nothing, is what the Word of God says,(John 6:63) and so it will always only see what the flesh can perceive—which is always negativity, doubt, limitations, fear-based thoughts—because fear-based thoughts create negative thinking. It will see realism in the sense of humanity, and that is literally going to take you away from the limitless possibility of the Spirit. Because the Spirit is limitless, and the more you live in the Spirit of God, the deeper your roots will stabilize in the Word of God.
Which brings us to the third point on how to activate the power of words, even if you struggle with negative thinking:
Studying to make yourself approved: When you give yourself to studying and seeking to understand God’s Word accurately, the more you come to see things as God sees them. And when you begin to see things as God sees them, you begin to express more like your Heavenly Father—both in words, character, and deed.
Remember also that there is so much importance to the ransom sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It is important to understand that because His sacrifice creates a way for us to be free from the grip of the Word of Death. The Word of Death is the one that creates limitation, the one that creates doubt, the one that creates unbelief, the one that creates a false sense of realism or reality.
And it is in that Word of Death that we experience negative thinking. But when we understand that Jesus Christ came here to die so that we can receive liberty—the Word of God says He is the Spirit, and wherever His Spirit is, there is liberty—we realize that the Word of God has come (which is Jesus Christ) to set us free from the Word of Death. Then, understanding that His death on the cross made Him become whatever it is that is supposed to create negative thinking, and that we can be set free from it, we begin to align ourselves more to really embodying and appreciating the gift of that ransom sacrifice.
And the way to do that is by accepting and receiving that gift. Because when we do that, we receive the Holy Spirit that infuses us with life. And that is why the Word of God says, For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death_ romans 8: 2.
So, every time you remember that sacrifice—appreciate it and embrace it as a free gift of grace—you receive the Word of God, you receive life, and it begins to change how you think.
Because here is the thing: the Word of God says we should embrace and let the mind that was in Christ be in us. Christ had no business with negative thinking. He had no business ever even thinking that God was not on His side.
He had no business ever thinking that things wouldn’t work out in His favour. Even when there were difficulties around Him, He moved away from the difficulties and tirelessly pursued, faithfully, the will of God. So, when we receive that Word of God, it changes how we think and begins to infuse us with a mindset that is Christ-like.
And when we begin to change how we think—which is to change the negative thinking—then how we speak automatically changes. How we think automatically changes. And that is literally how you can activate the power of your words, even though right now you are still struggling with negative thinking.
